So the larger of the two pieces came out of the bisque firing.
I was worried that this would come out flaked, as I realised I applied far too many coats of terra sig and also didn't burnish until the final layers .. considering that the fact that it's crazing / cracking isn't surprising.
I like the effect in some of the places, but it's worse on one side and isn't intentional, so I can't really take this as a win .. but it's been a useful experience.
The smaller pot is being fired separately and had fewer layers applied, so this will be a good chance to confirm the number of layers is having the larger effect.
This has led me to decide to start producing test tiles / experiment with the process and material before committing. I realise that part of me like the idea of a grand gesture .. but I need to use time effectively if I want to progress effectively.
Still have the stoneware firing to go though .. so will see if it survives that, and I'll get to understand what happens to the colour's surface.
